WAVES project meeting and IEEE CBMS 2017

The last WAVES project meeting took place in Thessaloniki, in June 2017. This meeting brought together the 6 Project Partners (St George’s, University of London, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Karolinska Institutet, Masaryk University, Instruct and Bayer) to discuss and plan the implementation of the project outputs.

Each partner gave an overview of the status of the working packages that they are leading and discussed about the next steps for the completion of the deliverables. The participants were also able to discuss about the best way to widen the use of the Scenario Based Learning through the developments of a ToolKit addressed to educators, administrators and learners. The toolkit will include the “how-to” create Virtual Scenario MOOC which will be launched next year.

The meeting run in parallel with the 30th IEEE International Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems (IEEE CBMS 2017), organized by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Attracting a worldwide audience, CBMS is the premier conference for computer-based medical systems, providing a mechanism for the exchange of ideas and technologies between academic and industrial scientists.

Sheetal Kavia from SGUL was invited to give a short presentation about the WAVES project during the UNCAP (Ubiquitous iNteroperable Care for Ageing People) Conference, that took place the last day of the IEEE. There was also an exhibition stand to disseminate the project and network on the uses of Virtual Scenario for training the carers of the aging population.
