User stories can help you to shape the design of an educational project: experience from WAVES
Daniel Schwarz, from Masaryk University and Sheetal Kavia from St George’s University of London, have published an article in the MEFANET Journal to describe their experience of using “User stories” to shape the design of an educational project: using the experiences from the WAVES project.
The article focusses on the data gathered from a 44-item on-line survey developed and distributed by project partners with the WAVES network. The target groups of the survey were learners, educators and technologists from various professional domains.
A few of the tried and tested methods from WAVES project includes:
“User stories – the common artefacts used in many agile software development techniques – were used in the early stage of the WAVES project to shape future developments of existing software for authoring and playing virtual scenarios. The use of a specific template of a user story together with a gaming activity for sorting of all obtained user stories helped to simplify and accelerate the creation of user requirement specification document.”
The MEFANET Journal is intended to present all the developments in the field of medical informatics, medical education, and e-learning and thereby promote the synergism among these disciplines mainly focused on Czech and Slovak medical faculties.
